Messageboard Guidelines PLEASE NOTE - If your message doesn’t follow these guidelines, it will not be posted on the messageboard. If your message isn’t posted, you will be sent an email telling you why your message has been failed. Anyone who seriously or repeatedly breaks the rules may be banned permanently from the messageboard. Write clearly. Check your message carefully before clicking the Send button. Don’t use ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. Typing in all capital letters is frowned upon; it’s a bit like shouting. It also makes your message more difficult to read. Don't post meaningless messages. For example, posting messages that say nothing more than "Me too" is a quick way to irritate other members. If you agree with a message, instead of just writing “me too”, you can reply with an informative comment about why you agree. Don’t post off-topic messages. The Hideout messageboard is for young people to talk about domestic violence only, and not general chat. Show respect. Don’t use these forums to post material or topics which are knowingly false, defamatory, deceptive, inaccurate, racist, insulting, abusive, inflammatory, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually graphic or lewd, physically threatening, invasive of another’s privacy or anything else the moderation team feels is offensive. Don’t provoke others. Don’t post messages that may annoy others on the messageboard. No swearing. Please don’t swear on the forum, out of respect for others. Please don’t post personal information. To protect your privacy and safety, and the privacy and safety of others, please don’t post personal information. If you do post personal information, we will do our best to remove this information from your message before posting it on the site. For example, we will remove names, addresses or any other information that may identify you or another person.. Spamming and advertising is not allowed. Any and all advertising, chain letters, pyramid schemes, solicitation, spamming and trolling is not acceptable. Please post your message in the correct topic area. There are a couple of topic areas to choose from. Choose the right topic area for the message you want to post. Cross posting: Please don’t post your message in more than one topic area.
